I’ve finally worked through the first chapter with the poisoning in mind. It’s always fascinating to see how a single word or phrase from my plot sheet can transform into a thrilling chapter filled with suspense! I had already visualized the scene beforehand, which is why it only took me about 30 minutes late at night after the kids were asleep and again in the quiet morning hour before they woke up. Here’s a little sneak peek:
Character Introductions:
• Ye Hua: The enigmatic queen of the succubi, whose beauty conceals a fierce power. She finds herself in a dangerous situation that tests her resolve.
• Loulan: A brave fairy-human hybrid with an ethereal pull of beauty that is grappling with the perilous circumstances around her. Her instincts drive her to protect those she love.
• Meiling: A seemingly loyal companion with hidden motives

Ye Hua took a bite of the ripe persimmon, savoring the sweetness—until Loulan’s voice cut through the moment, sharp with panic.

Before Ye Hua could react, Meiling’s smile twisted, and a hidden dagger flashed in her hand.
“If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself—now die!”
